Fashion of Neglect is a collection of material compiled from a stash of almost 80 songs nearing almost seven hours of music of which none has been previously released. We've smashed it down to our favorite 15 tracks The complete collection was all written, recorded, mixed, and mastered within a ten month period. (2020-2021) There was never any intent by Goatshoes to release any of it. This music was made just for the pure joy and deep desire of making it. If not for the persistence of peers, friends, and family, these wonderfully unique pieces would never have become accessible to the rest of us. Fashion of Neglect is a unique tour of colors, styles, genres, and moods which range from minimal to layered, from spacey to bopping. These tracks are littered with pure emotion and feeling. Goatshoes has attacked this initial debut with a prolific intensity and it shows. This is surely one of the more interesting and refreshing stories behind a debut release in sometime and if that just wasn't enough, the entire album was written and recorded without using a PC or Laptop.. Computers only came into play during the mastering process.
Track number one entitled "Homage to all Brands" is surely the most straightforward on the album. The song is a tribute to the song Brand E by John Frusciante. It was Frusciante's PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone Album which initially sent Goatshoes into this electronic obsession. Homage to all Brands is primarily a dance track with a catchy synth melody and guitar tones which really resemble that of New Order. From there on, the album gives us melodic bass lines, screaming sustained feedback, gentle bells, dreamy ambiance, pulsing kicks, flailing snares, soothing violins, broken pianos, new clarinets, old acoustics, an erhu, lightning and lighters, ghosts, humans, woodpeckers and cicadas.....plus more homemade samples than a 5 and 10 shop....it's all in here.....somehow!!

Gino Pavan plays: clarinet, acoustic drums, electric and acoustic guitars and basses, keys/synths, drum machine programming, lug nuts, saws, chairs, cans, keys, metal tables, dog belly, pencil sharpener, meteorites, Roman Voting Stick, Roman Coins, Tanzanite, broom, swords, scissors, and many other oddities sampled for this album.
All songs written recorded and mixed on Garage Band then dumped on to Waveform 11 for mastering. Besides 2 paid apps totaling less than 15$, all plugins and apps used on this album were 100% free!
